This was designed for a contest on DesignCrowd where the brief was to come up with a logo for a movie reviews website called Cinemum, which is “intended as a guide for parents, educators, and individuals to make informed viewing choices when watching films.”
So I came up with this design which is based on the idea of using your hands to frame something you’ve seen, which movie makers and sometimes photographers would do when they don’t have a camera readily available. I guess it also plays on the idea of one’s particular view to let’s say…movies. Hence reinforcing the purpose of the company website Cinemum.
I created it in Illustrator with the help of my trusty Bamboo tablet using only the paint tool to draw the outlines . It didn’t take me long to actually execute the illustration but I think it is a nice, simplistic image. So above, I have included 4 images to show the versatility of the design changing the different colours and background of the illustration.
To tell you the truth, I didn’t really get the tagline “Ratings star” but it was on the brief, so I put it in there.
